You Belong Here

As part of the Mesquite Promise, we have vowed to ensure every child on our campus experiences opportunities and supports that create a sense of belonging. We are committed to building relationships that help young people discover who they are and learn to understand others. We want our young people to know who they are and what they think matters.

On our campus we offer a variety of experiences and learning opportunities designed to develop self-confidence, build leadership skills and create a safe community that feels like a second home.

At Motley Elementary, we believe in growing every student, every way, every day. This goes beyond academics. We provide various opportunities for students to be enriched through not only their academic pursuits, but also through social experiences outside of the classroom. We believe in growing leaders in our community and shaping students into well rounded individuals.

Morning Announcements

Each morning Motley’s announcements are broadcasted live in all classrooms. Each student and staff member watches and gains valuable insight to the latest news and information happening at Motley Elementary.

Book Fair

Our librarian hosts a book fair each school year. The book fair is hosted in our school library and offers an extensive variety of titles for all students no matter their reading level or interest. The book fair lasts for one week and parents are invited to attend.

Play Day

Motley’s Play Day happens every year in May. It is a fun-filled day of indoor and outdoor activities such as tug o’ war, races, bounce houses, inflatables, etc.  It is one of the students’ favorite days of the year.

Field trips

Throughout the year, a plethora of field trips are planned and scheduled for each grade level. If you are interested in going on a field trip with your child, you MUST complete the Mesquite ISD Volunteer Background Application two weeks prior to the date of the event.

  • Complete and submit the application.  Be sure to carefully check for errors or omissions as these may cause processing delays.
  • Applicants will NOT be notified unless a criminal history is indicated when the background check is completed.

  • Applicants may contact the campus for which they applied to volunteer to verify their approval as a campus volunteer.

Food drive

Each November, we hold a food drive for Sharing Life. We collect food donations in order to support the community of Mesquite.

Red Ribbon Week

At Motley, we spend a week raising awareness on living a drug-free lifestyle. Our Counselor implements activities to inform students on the benefits and prevention of alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use. This is the largest prevention campaign done across the United States.

School Sponsored Programs & Activities

Student Council

Our teachers sponsor this student-led student organization that hosts community events and supports our school. Each Fall, elections are held for student officers. This is a great opportunity for our students to experience leadership roles.

Amazing Shake

A district competition that develops professional hard and soft skills for the next generation of leaders.

Battle of the Books

Our librarian leads this group of students that competes in a reading competition where students read 10 books and answer questions over them.

Archery

Sponsored by our PE coach, students learn the art of archery and compete at the District level with an opportunity to advance to State.
